They shift, don't always fit your anatomy… and let leaks through.

WHY IT LEAKS
Why so many period products leak, pinch or hurt — and what's really behind it
Most conventional products — tampons, cups or some discs — sit in the mid or lower part of the vaginal canal.
That's exactly where many sensitive nerve endings are, and where your body is very active, with muscles and movement.
The result: pressure, dryness, friction… even pain.
And there's more: these products rely on suction or a vacuum — a real problem if you have a weaker pelvic floor or a low cervix.
That's why they fail so often:
femdisc works with your body,
not against it
Unlike conventional products, femdisc sits in the vaginal fornix — a naturally wider, more stable pocket near the cervix, with fewer nerve endings. Think of it as a natural pocket your body already has.
Up to 12 hours, nothing on your mind
On the go, overnight or through a full day — femdisc protects you reliably for up to 12 hours.
You forget it's there
femdisc sits in a naturally comfortable spot where you barely feel it — most wearers say they forget they're even on their period.
Move freely — no limits
Stays secure through sport and intimate moments — femdisc adapts to your body instead of constraining it.
Good for you — and the planet
Made from high-quality medical-grade silicone. One femdisc replaces more than 120 disposables — better for the planet… and your wallet.

femdisc FAQ
Yes, many femdisc customers wear an IUD!
femdisc was designed to be compatible with IUDs, because it doesn't rely on suction to stay in place — unlike some cups.
That said, we recommend checking with your gynecologist before your first use, especially if you have an IUD.
Every body is different, and the position of your IUD can vary with your anatomy.
Your gynecologist can:
- check the position of your cervix and IUD,
- trim the threads if needed,
- and guide you toward safe use.
Reminder:
femdisc settles in the vaginal fornix, below the cervix, without putting pressure on the IUD.
But to be fully at ease, get personal medical advice before your first use.
Yes, absolutely.
femdisc creates a natural seal at the base of your cervix, giving you a “barely there” feeling and letting you move freely all day, including sport and swimming.
Why it doesn't move during exercise:
On the toilet, your pelvic-floor muscles relax to urinate, which can shift the disc slightly and allow self-draining.
But during physical activity (squats, running, swimming, yoga…), those muscles stay engaged and locked — they don't release the way they do when you pee.
👉 The result: femdisc stays perfectly in place, even through intense effort, sneezing or a good belly laugh.
Bonus tip:
If you have a very heavy flow, you can empty femdisc before a workout for extra peace of mind.
And if you like, you can wear period underwear as backup, especially when you're starting out.
Before you start
Wash your hands well, then clean your reusable femdisc with warm water and a little mild soap or your femdisc cleanser.
Inserting femdisc
- Fold it in half into a figure “8”: this makes insertion easier.
- Choose your position: sitting on the toilet, squatting, or with one leg raised.
- Relax your pelvic floor and gently part the labia with one hand.
- Insert femdisc at an angle, down and back (toward your tailbone), until it sits comfortably.
- Push the front rim up so it tucks behind your pubic bone.
Once it's seated well, you shouldn't feel it at all.
While you wear it
- Your first tries may bring slight leaks. That's normal!
- It can take 2–3 cycles to learn how to position it for your anatomy.
- You can also practice hands-free emptying:
→ Sit on the toilet and bear down gently with your pelvic muscles (as if going to the bathroom)
→ Some blood drains automatically
→ You can then re-seat your femdisc with a clean finger
Tip: regularly check that the front rim is behind your pubic bone, especially after using the toilet.
Removing femdisc
- Wash your hands
- Sit on the toilet and relax your pelvic floor
- Slide a clean finger (thumb or index) under the front rim
→ Thumb, nail up
→ Index, nail down - Pull gently, keeping the rim level
- If needed, bear down slightly with your pelvic muscles to help it out
- Empty the contents into the toilet, then clean your femdisc as before

Medical caution
Before using femdisc, consult your doctor if you're prone to:
- recurring vaginal or bacterial infections
- yeast infections, cystitis or specific anatomical conditions
If you feel pain or have difficulty urinating, stop use immediately and seek medical advice.
Good care keeps your femdisc clean, safe and effective for years. Here are our simple tips 👇
During your period
You should remove, empty and clean your femdisc at least every 12 hours.
- Wash your hands thoroughly
- Rinse your femdisc first with cold water
→ This helps prevent stains and odor on the silicone - Then use warm water + a mild soap or our femdisc foam cleanser
- Massage the whole surface with your fingers, including both sides of the rim
- Rinse thoroughly
- Shake it off or let it air-dry before reinserting
Between cycles
- Let it dry completely before storing
- Keep it in its fabric pouch (provided), in a cool, dry place
- ❌ Never store it in an airtight container (no closed box or sealed plastic)
Monthly sterilizing
Pot method
- Bring water to a boil in a clean pot
- Submerge your femdisc for 10 minutes
- Make sure it doesn't touch the sides or bottom (that could damage the silicone)
- Remove it, let it cool, then dry it before storing
If you have a vaginal infection
- Never use your femdisc if you have a bacterial infection, yeast infection, or other intimate condition
- Wait for full recovery before using it again
- If you used it during an infection:
→ Discard it immediately
→ ❌ Don't try to wash or reuse it
