Will it fit my body?

femdisc fits most bodies:

Retroverted uterus โ€” many customers confirm it holds perfectly.
After birth / sensitive pelvic floor โ€” go for the Small size.
Heavy flow โ€” the Regular size (โ‰ˆ 5 tampons) is made for it.
IUD โ€” compatible, with no suction pull unlike a cup.

The first cycle or two are for getting the hang of it โ€” that's normal, and worth it.

💧Leak-free โ€” when it's seated right

3 steps for a secure seat:

1Fold the disc and insert it downward, toward your tailbone.
2Push it behind your pubic bone โ€” it unfolds and settles on its own.
3A leak? It isn't tucked up far enough โ€” re-seat it behind your pubic bone.
Disc stays folded? Run a clean finger along the rim to help it open. Most get it within a cycle or two.
60-day trial offer

Try femdisc risk-free โ€” with 2 free disposable discs to start

Because change takes a little courage:

  • You get 2 free disposable discs for your first cycles.
  • Take 60 days to test them, at your own pace.
  • Then move smoothly to your reusable femdisc pair.
  • 60-day money-back guarantee: if the disposables aren't for you, we refund you. Just send the reusable set back still sealed.

Good to know about femdisc disposable discs:

  • Single-use only โ€” they are not reusable
  • Designed and tested for up to 12 hours of wear
  • After 12 h, remove and discard
  • Don't wash or reuse โ€” they are single-use products
Will femdisc fit me?

When you pinch the disc in the middle to insert it, its width is similar to a regular tampon.

It sits comfortably in the vaginal fornix, deep in the vaginal canal, just below the cervix, where it collects your flow.

How to choose the right size?

The best guide is the height of your cervix.

  • If your cervix sits low, we recommend femdisc Small.
  • If it sits mid to high, femdisc Regular is likely the better fit.

How to feel your cervix yourself:

Try to locate it by inserting a clean finger into your vagina.

The cervix sits right at the top: a small, round, smooth, slightly firm area โ€” often described as feeling like pinched lips.

If it's hard to reach, try squatting โ€” it makes access easier.

And if I feel nothing?

If you can't reach it or it's more than 5.5 cm deep, you most likely have a high cervix.

โžก๏ธ During your period the cervix tends to drop, and it rises on fertile days โ€” it's normal for its position to change.

Not sure? Here's our tip:

Choose the Regular + Small pair:

You can test both sizes at your own pace, and keep the one that fits your body โ€” and your cycle โ€” best.

Hands-free emptying 101

Hands-free emptying (also called self-draining or auto-emptying) happens when your pelvic-floor muscles naturally contract while you're on the toilet.

This can shift the disc slightly, letting excess blood drain into the toilet โ€” without removing it.

How does auto-emptying work?

For some, it happens every time they go to the toilet.

For others, only on heavier-flow days.

And for someโ€ฆ never. Every body is different!

If you're one of those who can do it, it's a real perk โ€” a feature unique to menstrual discs, absent in tampons and cups.

Butโ€ฆ how do you do it?

Sitting on the toilet, bear down gently (as if going to the bathroom).

This slides the disc slightly, releasing some blood into the toilet.

No worries: once you're done, the disc often settles back on its own, thanks to the shape of your vagina and natural pressure.

You can also do 1โ€“2 pelvic-floor squeezes (Kegels) to help it re-seat.

Why does the disc stay put the rest of the time?

When it's seated well, femdisc settles into the vaginal fornix and hooks behind your pubic bone.

It doesn't move during:

  • sport ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ
  • walking ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ
  • a fit of laughter ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • or a sneeze ๐Ÿคง

These movements don't activate the same muscles you use for the toilet.

Tips to avoid surprises:
  • Empty the disc before an intense workout or a yoga class.
  • On very heavy days you can wear period underwear or a liner as backup, if it reassures you.
And after auto-emptying?

Often, it rises back on its own once you stand up.

If not:

  • Do a few Kegels
  • Or check with a clean finger that the rim is back behind your pubic bone
Caring for your femdisc

Good care extends the life of your femdisc and keeps it clean, safe and effective for years.

Here's what we recommend ๐Ÿ‘‡

During your period:

It's important to remove, empty and clean your femdisc at least every 12 hours.

  1. Wash your hands well
  2. Rinse your femdisc first with cold water โ†’ this helps prevent stains and odor
  3. Then switch to warm water with a little mild soap or intimate wash
  4. Massage the whole surface, including both sides of the rim
  5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water
  6. Wipe it or let it air-dry before reinserting

Between cycles:

  • Wait until your femdisc is completely dry before storing it
  • Keep it in the breathable pouch provided, in a cool, dry place
  • โŒ Never store it in an airtight container (closed box, jar or sealed plastic case)

Monthly sterilizing:

With the sterilizer (recommended)

  1. Fill the sterilizer with water
  2. If your water is hard, add a few drops of white vinegar
  3. Microwave it for 4 minutes
  4. Then place your femdisc in the hot water for 5โ€“10 minutes

    โžก๏ธ And it's ready.

With a pot:

  1. Bring water to a boil in a clean pot
  2. Submerge the femdisc for 10 minutes
  3. Watch it and stir gently so it doesn't touch the sides or bottom (that could damage the silicone)
  4. Remove it, let it cool completely and dry it carefully before storing

If you have a vaginal infection:

  • Never wear your femdisc if you have a yeast or bacterial infection
  • Wait until you're fully recovered before using it again
  • If you used your femdisc during an infection:

    โ†’ Discard it immediately

โ†’ โŒ Don't try to clean or reuse it

Your health comes first ๐Ÿ’œ

WHY IT LEAKS

Why so many period products leak, pinch or hurt โ€” and what's really behind it

Most conventional products โ€” tampons, cups or some discs โ€” sit in the mid or lower part of the vaginal canal.

That's exactly where many sensitive nerve endings are, and where your body is very active, with muscles and movement.

The result: pressure, dryness, frictionโ€ฆ even pain.

And there's more: these products rely on suction or a vacuum โ€” a real problem if you have a weaker pelvic floor or a low cervix.

That's why they fail so often:

They shift, don't always fit your anatomyโ€ฆ and let leaks through.

The real problem is where they sit โ€” and how they work.
You deserve something built to fit your body, not disrupt it.

WE DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY

femdisc works with your body,
not against it

Unlike conventional products, femdisc sits in the vaginal fornix โ€” a naturally wider, more stable pocket near the cervix, with fewer nerve endings. Think of it as a natural pocket your body already has.

femdisc FAQ

Clear answers to get you started
Can I use femdisc with an IUD?

Yes, many femdisc customers wear an IUD!

femdisc was designed to be compatible with IUDs, because it doesn't rely on suction to stay in place โ€” unlike some cups.

That said, we recommend checking with your gynecologist before your first use, especially if you have an IUD.

Every body is different, and the position of your IUD can vary with your anatomy.

Your gynecologist can:

  • check the position of your cervix and IUD,
  • trim the threads if needed,
  • and guide you toward safe use.

Reminder:

femdisc settles in the vaginal fornix, below the cervix, without putting pressure on the IUD.

But to be fully at ease, get personal medical advice before your first use.

Can I wear femdisc for sport, swimming or sleep?

Yes, absolutely.

femdisc creates a natural seal at the base of your cervix, giving you a โ€œbarely thereโ€ feeling and letting you move freely all day, including sport and swimming.

Why it doesn't move during exercise:

On the toilet, your pelvic-floor muscles relax to urinate, which can shift the disc slightly and allow self-draining.

But during physical activity (squats, running, swimming, yogaโ€ฆ), those muscles stay engaged and locked โ€” they don't release the way they do when you pee.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The result: femdisc stays perfectly in place, even through intense effort, sneezing or a good belly laugh.

Bonus tip:

If you have a very heavy flow, you can empty femdisc before a workout for extra peace of mind.

And if you like, you can wear period underwear as backup, especially when you're starting out.

How do I insert and remove femdisc?

Before you start

Wash your hands well, then clean your reusable femdisc with warm water and a little mild soap or your femdisc cleanser.

Inserting femdisc

  1. Fold it in half into a figure โ€œ8โ€: this makes insertion easier.
  2. Choose your position: sitting on the toilet, squatting, or with one leg raised.
  3. Relax your pelvic floor and gently part the labia with one hand.
  4. Insert femdisc at an angle, down and back (toward your tailbone), until it sits comfortably.
  5. Push the front rim up so it tucks behind your pubic bone.

Once it's seated well, you shouldn't feel it at all.

While you wear it

  • Your first tries may bring slight leaks. That's normal!
  • It can take 2โ€“3 cycles to learn how to position it for your anatomy.
  • You can also practice hands-free emptying:

โ†’ Sit on the toilet and bear down gently with your pelvic muscles (as if going to the bathroom)

    โ†’ Some blood drains automatically

โ†’ You can then re-seat your femdisc with a clean finger

Tip: regularly check that the front rim is behind your pubic bone, especially after using the toilet.

Removing femdisc

  1. Wash your hands
  2. Sit on the toilet and relax your pelvic floor
  3. Slide a clean finger (thumb or index) under the front rim

    โ†’ Thumb, nail up

    โ†’ Index, nail down
  4. Pull gently, keeping the rim level
  5. If needed, bear down slightly with your pelvic muscles to help it out
  6. Empty the contents into the toilet, then clean your femdisc as before

If you feel pain or have difficulty urinating, stop use immediately and seek medical advice.
